SUMMARY:International Open RAN Symposium
DESCRIPTION:Sarat Puthenpura gave a lightning talk on Aether’s SMaRT-5G project at the International Open RAN Symposium which took place September 17 – 19\, 2024 in Golden\, Colorado (USA). This event was the first symposium of an annual series established by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) with the goal of creating a community of practice for consistent and repeatable Open RAN testing which includes existing or newly initiated testing laboratories\, government partners\, industry\, and standards development organizations. Sarat’s talk discussed the SMaRT-5G project’s efforts to develop and enable ML-driven energy savings solutions for mobile networks. | View Slide

SUMMARY:V-Robot2024
DESCRIPTION:Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Virtual (V-Robot2024) brought together researchers to discuss how robotics and artificial intelligence are assuming a central role in our daily lives and their impact on the future of work and society\, along with the associated technologies enabling this evolution. \nAjay Thakur\, Aether TST Member and Cloud Software Architect at Intel\, gave a talk\, “Open Source 5G: Transforming Robotics and IoT for the Future”; view slides from his talk. \nAbstract: Open source 5G technology is revolutionizing the fields of robotics and the Internet of Things (IoT) by providing flexible\, scalable\, and cost-effective connectivity solutions. This talk explores the synergy between open source 5G and its application in robotics and IoT. Open source 5G platforms\, like those developed by the Linux Foundation’s Aether Project\, offer closed loop control APIs\, and support for 3gpp compliant core which enables seamless integration of diverse devices and systems. The adoption of open source 5G promotes innovation\, collaboration\, and interoperability\, driving forward the development of cutting-edge technologies in robotics and IoT ecosystems. \n
