Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Virtual (V-Robot2024) brought together researchers to discuss how robotics and artificial intelligence are assuming a central role in our daily lives and their impact on the future of work and society, along with the associated technologies enabling this evolution.
Ajay Thakur, Aether TST Member and Cloud Software Architect at Intel, gave a talk, “Open Source 5G: Transforming Robotics and IoT for the Future”; view slides from his talk.
Abstract: Open source 5G technology is revolutionizing the fields of robotics and the Internet of Things (IoT) by providing flexible, scalable, and cost-effective connectivity solutions. This talk explores the synergy between open source 5G and its application in robotics and IoT. Open source 5G platforms, like those developed by the Linux Foundation’s Aether Project, offer closed loop control APIs, and support for 3gpp compliant core which enables seamless integration of diverse devices and systems. The adoption of open source 5G promotes innovation, collaboration, and interoperability, driving forward the development of cutting-edge technologies in robotics and IoT ecosystems.
